Shoe covers are designed to be worn by personnel grounded via a flooring/footwear system per ANSI/ESD Table 2. “For standing operations, personnel shall be grounded via a wrist strap system or by a flooring/footwear system." [ANSI/ESD -2007 section 8.2]. Desco TruStat 04584 shoe cover to be worn with grounding tab placed in the person’s shoe under their foot with grounding tab portion at bottom of the Bootie in contact with ESD flooring. Booties are to be worn on both feet, and while worn should be tested per ESD TR53 using a footwear tester (with lower limit of 50 kilohms and 35 megohms upper limit). It is a suitable ESD footwear component in Flooring/Footwear System tested per ANSI/ESD STM97.1 Floor Materials and Footwear Resistance Measurement in Combination with a Person.
